Hello! My travel tips this time are about a German city that is very special to me: Berlin, oh how I love this city.

I will tell in advance that the post will be long, but still I will not be able to recommend everything that I would like to recommend.

So here we go:

Brandenburg Gate

It is the main symbol of Berlin. When Germany was divided, after the Second World War, the gate was the only passage between the two Germanys.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, it became a symbol of the prosperity and the unification of Germany.

Berliner Dom / Cathedral of Berlin

Located on the Museum Island, close to Alexanderplatz and in front of the Royal Palace in Berlin, it is the largest Protestant church in the city.

Altes Museum

Also located on Museum Island, it is the largest and most important museum in the world in the art of ancient Greece, Rome and Etruscan.

Do not miss it, is well worth seeing.

Reischstag – German Parliament

It is the building where the German Federal Parliament (Bunderstag) works. It is possible to visit the interior of the building for free, but you should book the visit through the internet on the site http://www.bundestag.de.

Holocaust Memorial

Also known as Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, is a memorial to Jewish victims of the Holocaust.

It is an impressive monument.

Neptune Fountain

It is gorgeous, tourists usually throw coins inside of it believing that their wishes will come true.

Fernsehturm – TV Tower

Located in Alexanderplatz, if you go to Berlin you should to take the elevator to go up the tower … worth every euro paid!

First because from there you will have a fantastic panoramic view of the city, and second because have lunch at a revolving restaurant in the center of the sphere is AMAZING (if you’re interested in lunch or dinner in the restaurant make a reservation)!

East Side Gallery

It is an international memorial for freedom, an outdoor art gallery that includes paintings made by artists from around the world on the remains of the Berlin Wall.

Plate in the center of Babelplatz

In which it is written: “Where they burn books, they ultimately burn people” – Heinrich Heine

Now understand why this phrase:

Memorial to the Nazis books burning

This glass plate also in the center of Babelplatz is discreet but has great significance.

When looking through the glass you see several empty bookshelves, symbolizing the absence of more than 20,000 books burned across Germany, these books have been considered banned publications by the Hitler doctrine.

Restaurant Transit

This restaurant became one of my passions in Berlin, I went there several times.

This is an Asian restaurant that features the cuisine from southeast Asia, and the best: you can try everything because you can order small portions at a very reasonable price.

There you will also find a variety of exotic beers.

You can opt for a table inside the restaurant or on the terrace.

Berghein – Panorama Bar

What is this place? FANTASTIC!

It is a must-see, but enter this club does not depend only on you.

In Berlin it is common to find a bouncer at the  door of the clubs who determine who enters and who does not enter, and the most curious is that there not is a specific criterion. So it’s always good to have a second option in mind, in case you’re not permitted to enter.

The Berghein/Panorama Bar is a club located in an abandoned factory, there are five floors and in each floor you will find many different environments.

It is no allowed to enter with cell phones and cameras and other electronic equipment as you may find celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lady Gaga and others who did not want to be bothered, there are also a lot of crazy people and bizarre things going.

As I said earlier in the post, I gave you several tips, but I still have so many to give, maybe I can do another post … someday.
